Charlotte Music Teachers Association Student Musician Certification Program OBJECTIVES: To encourage students to observe and explore the world of music and to provide teachers with an educational program that will encourage students to seek a well-rounded education.
HOW IT WORKS: This program is for all music students who study any instrument. All students who complete the program with sufficient point totals will receive a wooden plaque properly engraved. Points will be tallied on activities April 1 through March 31. These points are rewarded by the student's teacher on a scale of 5 to 10 points per activity. The minimum points for certification is 200 points, with 60 points minimum from the three categories: Participation, Observationand Exploration. Points are recorded on a CMTA folder, provided at registration. This CMTA folder is to be returned to the chairman by April 15.
REGISTRATION FEE: $15.00 per student (CMTA members); $25.00 per student (Non-CMTA members) Those teachers who are not CMTA members are encouraged to join.
HOW TO REGISTER: Send the following information to chairman Sue Dorsett: teacher name, address, phone, fax, e-mail, list of student participants with grade level and ONE check made payable to CMTA to include all registration fees shown above.
DEADLINE for registration is October 15.
