Lib Hughston is a graduate of New York University (Phi Beta Kappa) and has studied piano at Furman, Queens and UNCC. She has been an active independent music teacher in Charlotte since 1959. She is a member of Music Teachers National Association, North Carolina Music Teachers Association, Charlotte Piano Teachers Association, Charlotte Music Club, National Federation of Music Clubs, and American Guild of Organists.

Currently, Lib is retired Organist and Choirmaster at Selwyn Avenue Presbyterian Church, President of the Charlotte Music Club and District Festival Chairman of the NC Federation of Music Clubs. She is also a Past President of the Charlotte Piano Teachers Forum and Past Committee Chair of the American Guild of Organists.
